Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, carriers, and clients to ensure smooth freight operations
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to maximize profitability while meeting customer needs
• Coordinate transportation planning using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software such as CRM platforms like Salesforce or similar tools
• Manage freight dispatching, data entry, and tracking to ensure timely deliveries in compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards
• Generate leads through prospecting activities such as inside sales, cold calling, and leveraging lead generation tools
• Oversee carrier sales and account management by evaluating carrier performance and ensuring adherence to contractual agreements
• Utilize EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and AS400 systems for efficient communication with partners and clients
• Conduct pricing analysis, develop logistics solutions, and manage B2B sales opportunities to expand business reach
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including FDA guidelines for sensitive shipments while maintaining accurate documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales with a focus on freight brokerage or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) services
• Strong understanding of transportation planning, carrier relations, and freight contracts
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, AS400, and dispatching tools
• Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to build lasting customer relationships through effective account management
• Demonstrated ability in inside sales, lead generation, pricing strategies, and data entry accuracy
• Exceptional communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in logistics scenarios

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations and FDA regulations
