About the role
This role is for an experienced videographer based in Seoul to capture dynamic footage for a short-form Instagram video exploring the global influence of Korean popular culture, including K-pop and K-beauty. The assignment is a two-hour shoot scheduled for the morning of 3 September, focusing on vibrant shopping districts such as Myeongdong, Dongdaemun, or areas near The Shilla Seoul. The ideal candidate will be adept at working efficiently in busy public spaces, capturing both environmental B-roll and short pieces to camera, with a contemporary, editorial style. The footage will be used for social media, requiring a strong understanding of vertical video formats and the nuances of cultural and fashion content.
Deliverables
- Capture high-quality, observational handheld footage in busy Seoul shopping districts, including street scenes, exteriors, and discreet in-store shots.
- Record short pieces to camera and walking/tracking shots as directed.
- Use a small, discreet mirrorless camera with strong low-light performance, a compact lens, wireless lavalier audio, and a small gimbal where appropriate.
- Deliver all original raw video and clean audio files digitally by 5 September.
- Ensure footage is primarily vertical for Instagram, with some horizontal options.
- No editing required; only raw footage and audio delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media, fashion, cultural, or documentary-style videography.
- Deep familiarity with Seoul’s shopping and cultural districts.
- Ability to work efficiently and unobtrusively in crowded public areas.
- Proficient with mirrorless cameras, wireless audio, and gimbal operation.
- Strong sense of contemporary, editorial visual style.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Must be available in Seoul on 3 September for a morning shoot.
