About This Role
Working as a Framer/Carpenter, you will construct, assemble, install, and repair structural framing and carpentry components on commercial construction projects. This role involves interpreting construction drawings, measuring and cutting materials, framing walls and structural components, installing building materials, and assisting with concrete formwork and other site construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project plans
- Measure, mark, cut, assemble, and install wood and other framing materials according to project requirements
- Construct and install wall frames, floor systems, roof structures, partitions, and other building components
- Install structural supports, blocking, bracing, sheathing, and related framing materials
- Perform layout, measurements, and material calculations to ensure accurate installation
- Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively
- Install doors, windows, hardware, siding, drywall, and other building materials as required by the project
- Assist with the construction, installation, modification, and removal of concrete formwork for foundations, walls, columns, beams, slabs, and other structural elements
- Cut, assemble, align, brace, and secure formwork components in preparation for concrete placement
- Assist with repairs, alterations, and restoration of existing structures where required
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and report them to the Foreman or Construction Superintendent
- Ensure completed work meets project specifications, required dimensions, and quality standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition
- Assist with material handling, site preparation, and other construction activities as required
- Work collaboratively with Formworkers, Rebar Workers, Labourers, Concrete Finishers, Foremen, and other trades
- Follow instructions from the Foreman and Construction Superintendent to complete assigned tasks
- Coordinate framing and carpentry activities with other construction operations to maintain workflow and project schedules
- Assist with receiving, unloading, organizing, and storing construction materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Monitor material usage and report shortages, damaged materials, or equipment issues
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Perform other construction-related duties as assigned
