About This Role
This role is for a skilled and reliable Framer to join a construction team, responsible for building the structural framework of buildings according to blueprints and schematics. It requires a strong understanding of carpentry, concrete forming, and drywall installation, and suits a candidate capable of performing heavy lifting safely and working on diverse projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine framing requirements
- Construct wall frames, floor systems, roof trusses, and other structural components using wood, steel, or concrete forms
- Operate power tools such as saws, drills, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble framing materials
- Install siding, drywall, and perform concrete finishing as needed for various projects
- Assist with concrete forming and restoration work to ensure structural integrity
- Use heavy equipment safely for lifting and positioning large materials or structural elements
- Ensure all framing work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, welders, and general contractors to complete projects efficiently
Requirements
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding construction schematics
- Experience with concrete forming, drywall installation, siding, and restoration projects
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, chisels) and power tools (saws, drills)
- Knowledge of woodworking techniques and carpentry principles
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks consistently
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and building codes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in measuring and cutting materials accurately
