Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fractional Senior to join our team, bringing extensive expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic financial guidance and hands-on accounting support across multiple projects and organizations. As a key contributor, you will leverage your deep understanding of complex financial concepts, GAAP standards, and various accounting software to ensure accurate financial management, compliance, and reporting. Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards such as SOX and securities law.
- Manage general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable processes with precision using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis including cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and Excel data analysis utilizing functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Oversee compliance with non-profit accounting standards (e.g., LIHTC), governmental accounting requirements, and tax regulations; prepare regulatory reports accurately and timely.
- Mentor junior team members on technical accounting practices such as double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial report writing to foster professional growth.
- Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit support activities to ensure data integrity.
- Support internal controls development by implementing best practices for financial management and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a strong background in financial accounting, regulatory compliance accounting, or governmental accounting.
- Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, securities law, Wills/trusts & estate law is a plus.
- Proficiency with multiple financial software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar tools; advanced Excel skills including data analysis functions like VLOOKUP are essential.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience with tax preparation related to payroll and other regulatory filings; familiarity with accrual accounting and budget management is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent mentoring abilities combined with clear communication skills to support team development.

Pay: $135.00 - $165.00 per hour
