Forensic Accountant - FT - Days - Acct

About This Role

The Forensic Accountant develops risk reduction and fraud prevention procedures to ensure accurate financial management for a company. This role utilizes forensic skills to research a company's financial data, identify and forecast potential fraud and/or business revenue loss, and analyze financial data and audit financial records to identify and track discrepancies and inaccuracies. The accountant ensures all accounting procedures follow standards and are compliant with the law, investigates complex cases to minimize risk, and reports on revenue losses and damages from breaches in contracts.

Responsibilities

• Promote the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others
• Consider mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Prepare and post various journal entries to designated accounts for reconciliations and adjustments
• Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts
• Organize financial evidence into detailed reports that will be beneficial to attorneys and law officials
• Prepare analytical data
• Provide litigation support
• Present findings to be used as trial evidence
• Serve as an expert witness in court cases
• Organize and maintain files for all legal cases
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Bilingual – English/Spanish

Nice to have:

• One year of progressively responsible financial or fiscal control work in a Hospital
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel including complex formulas and Pivot table functions

• Schedule: Days, occasional evening or weekend work may be required
