Duties
The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position is to serve as the Force Support Squadron Superintendent. This position advises, plans, organizes and manages the activities and support services of the organization. As such the incumbent of this position will perform the following duties:
- Plan, organize and oversee the full complement of activities within the Force Support Squadron (FSS).
- Manage activities associated with education and training programs for unit personnel.
- Liaison with active duty host Civilian Personnel Office (CPO) on strategic plans affecting functional capabilities in the Force Support Squadron and Wing.
- Perform work for the planning and management of the administrative budget and related financial documents.
- Manage tasked and deployable Force Support Squadron resource capabilities as well as those of other functions assigned.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year (52 weeks) or specialized work experience equivalent to GS-09 grade level or equivalent qualifying pay band or other pay systems in the Federal service which has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience involved applying principles, practices, procedures, and terminology involved in managing and advising on military Human Resources matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and meeting the needs of customers. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements).
The assessment questionnaire is designed to measure your ability in the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): (1) Knowledge of a wide range of manpower concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations programs and practices. (2) Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management and operations of small to medium organizations. (3) Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of an organization directly and through subordinate supervisors. (4) Ability to work out solutions to problems or questions relating to the work.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Management, or LL.M., if related. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is related to the duties of the position. If qualifying based on education, a legible copy of your college transcripts identifying Institution name and location, type of degree awarded and date conferred is required. NOTE: OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE FURNISHED UPON APPOINTMENT.
