About This Role
Working in a dynamic team, the Food Service Worker delivers exceptional culinary experiences by preparing and serving food, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This role ensures guests enjoy delicious meals in a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
- Serve food and beverages to customers in person, providing friendly and attentive customer service that enhances their dining experience
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, dishwashers, and POS (Point of Sale) systems for processing cash transactions
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and dining areas regularly, following strict food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food handling tasks such as portioning, weighing ingredients, and managing dietary accommodations with care and precision
- Support catering and banquet events by setting up service areas, serving guests, and ensuring smooth operations during large functions
- Follow all food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food handling safety standards, and sanitizing procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests in person
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately using POS system
- Physical ability to handle weight in the workplace, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks effectively
- Culinary or catering experience is desirable; dietary aide or banquet experience will be considered an asset
