About This Role
This position is a food service role at the Silver Sage Golf and Event Center, involving a variety of tasks from setting up and serving food to extensive cleaning. It requires working an irregular schedule and the ability to perform physical tasks in a food service environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items, including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages
- Serve food cafeteria style
- Break down and clean areas when meals are complete
- Set up dining room tables for service, place food and beverages on tables, and replenish items as necessary
- Set up and operate dishwashers, perform preventive maintenance and cleaning
- Scrape, soak, scour, and scrub bowls, pots, and pans
- Perform heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, wash floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, and sanitize garbage cans
- Unload food from delivery trucks
- Collect and transfer trash from work area to disposal area
- Assemble and toss fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings, serve into standard serving sizes
- Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
- Make coffee, tea, and other beverages
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Complete a background investigation with favorable results
- Be willing to work an irregular work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Complete assigned training, including Food Handlers certification, within a specified time from date of hire or assignment to position
- Follow simple oral instructions
- Be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operate simple machines
- Be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and use judgment in sequencing tasks
- Have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area
- Be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time
