Food Service Worker

About This Role

This Food Service Worker role involves preparing and building food items, providing customer service, and adhering to strict food safety and sanitation procedures. The position is for the 2026-2027 school year and requires someone who can ensure guest satisfaction in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and build food items according to standardized recipes and directions
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Set up work stations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
• Break down, clean, and sanitize work stations
• Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating their needs
• Replenish food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adhere to Sikeston R6 Schools safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensure security of company assets
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Ability to obtain food safety certification
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 25 lbs
• Excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills
• Computer knowledge and assistive technology
• Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education

• Previous food service experience
