Food and Beverage Manager

About This Role

The Food and Beverage Manager provides an exceptional dining experience for guests by supporting the daily operations of the restaurant. This role suits a hands-on, energetic, and service-oriented leader who is passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences within the Jekyll Island Club Resort and the Jekyll Ocean Club Resort.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth, efficient, and consistent service
• Work closely with culinary leadership and the Food & Beverage management team to maintain service and quality standards
• Provide hands-on leadership during service, including assisting the team and addressing operational needs as they arise
• Ensure excellent guest service and promptly address guest questions, concerns, or special requests
• Meet and greet guests while maintaining a welcoming and positive dining atmosphere
• Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate coverage based on business levels
• Train, coach, and support team members to ensure service standards and expectations are consistently met
• Monitor team member performance and provide ongoing feedback and direction
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and maintaining appropriate product and supply levels
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and Resort policies and procedures
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional restaurant environment
• Support cost-control initiatives and assist leadership with monitoring labor and operational expenses
• Promote teamwork, positive communication, and a professional work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Food & Beverage operation

Requirements

• At least 2-4 years restaurant management experience in a high-volume hotel restaurant
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to provide guests with an exceptional experience
• Experience in a similar size hotel (40+ rooms)
• Full-service hotel experience, preferably in an upscale independent hotel
• Keen sense for hiring, training and coaching great people to provide top-notch service to guests
• Dependable, organized and have a positive, can-do mindset
• Take ownership of tasks and feedback from a manager to continue to grow
