Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing a variety of flooring materials, including tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors to ensure proper installation of flooring materials.
- Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools and power tools, following schematics and blueprints.
- Install various types of flooring including carpet, tile laying, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl planks, with precision and attention to detail.
- Use hand tools such as carpet seaming iron, saws, drills, caulking guns, and other power tools to complete installations efficiently.
- Perform trim carpentry tasks including baseboards, moldings, thresholds, and other finishing details for a polished look.
- Apply caulking and sealants around fixtures, edges, and seams for water resistance and aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct restoration work on floors affected by water damage or wear; assist in water damage restoration projects when needed.
- Collaborate with team members on construction estimating for project planning and material procurement.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with floor care maintenance and buffing to ensure longevity of installed flooring surfaces.
- Support fixture installation such as cabinets or other built-in features during remodeling or renovation projects.
- Participate in construction painting or finishing tasks as required for project completion.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a secure working environment on construction sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation including carpet laying, tile laying, hardwood flooring, laminate, or vinyl is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and blueprint reading skills.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in flooring installation and carpentry tasks.
- Previous experience with remodeling projects or maintenance person work is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during projects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
