About This Role
Installing various types of residential flooring is the core of this role, including luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, and hardwood. The ideal candidate is an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented professional who takes pride in their work and can complete installations efficiently without compromising quality.
Responsibilities
- Install various types of residential flooring, including luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, hardwood, and other flooring materials
- Remove existing flooring and prepare surfaces for new installations
- Inspect subfloors and identify uneven areas, damage, or conditions requiring repair
- Perform subfloor repairs, leveling, and preparation as needed
- Accurately measure, cut, fit, and install flooring, including detailed cuts around cabinets, doorways, and other obstacles
- Install and finish transitions, thresholds, quarter round, shoe molding, and baseboards
- Remove and reinstall existing baseboards as needed, including caulking and minor touch-ups
- Move and protect furniture, appliances, and surrounding surfaces during installation
- Follow manufacturer installation guidelines and proper flooring installation techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with other residential remodeling and renovation tasks as needed
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with residential flooring installation
- Experience installing LVP, laminate, and hardwood flooring
- Strong understanding of subfloor preparation, leveling, and flooring installation methods
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install flooring around obstacles
- Knowledge of proper expansion gaps, transitions, and finishing techniques
- Proficiency with flooring installation equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to follow instructions
- Ability to lift and carry flooring materials and perform physically demanding work
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
