Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing existing floors to ensure proper adhesion and durability
- Install a range of flooring materials including hardwood, vinyl, tile, carpet, epoxy coatings, and other resilient options with precision
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials according to specifications
- Refinish floors with tasks like buffing, sanding, sealing, and water damage restoration to bring them back to their original condition
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area to prevent accidents on-site
- Work with project managers, contractors, and clients to read construction plans and deliver projects on time
Requirements
- Experience with flooring installation techniques such as hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy, carpet, and refinishing is a plus
- Proficient with hand tools (e.g., chisels, saws) and power tools (e.g., drills, sanders) used in flooring work
- Capable of handling manual tasks like lifting heavy materials while following safety standards
- Skilled in water damage restoration, caulking, fixture installation, remodeling, and other flooring-related handyman work
- Experience on construction sites with a solid understanding of site safety regulations
- Familiarity with material installation, restoration practices, and reading construction plans for accurate execution
