About This Role
Installing a variety of flooring materials, including tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl, is the main focus of this role, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills in flooring installation while working on diverse projects that challenge craftsmanship and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare work areas accurately using blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure precise installation
- Install various flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet with attention to detail and quality standards
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, fitting, and securing flooring materials
- Perform surface preparation tasks including leveling, sanding, caulking, and applying floor care products to ensure optimal adhesion and finish
- Read blueprints and schematics to follow project specifications accurately while coordinating with other trades like carpentry, cabinet installation, or restoration teams as needed
- Conduct water damage restoration tasks when required, including moisture assessment and floor repair or replacement
- Maintain safety protocols on construction sites by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety guidelines during all phases of installation
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction fields with a strong understanding of construction estimating processes
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and schematic diagrams relevant to flooring projects
- Proficient with hand tools such as caulking guns, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers; experienced with power tools including saws and buffing equipment
- Knowledge of water damage restoration techniques and floor care practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on diverse construction sites while maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail; strong communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
