About This Role
This role involves installing various types of flooring, including LVT, VCT, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, carpet, and wood. It suits a qualified flooring installer eager to bring craftsmanship to life through expert installation.
Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to determine the scope of flooring installation projects
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments to ensure optimal flooring adhesion
- Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpets, and laminate with precision and attention to detail
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials according to specifications
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, sealing, and applying protective finishes to restore or enhance existing floors
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials, carrying tools, and maneuvering large flooring sections while maintaining safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety regulations and building codes
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or flooring installation with knowledge of building material installation techniques
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., saws, drills, chisels) and power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, construction plans, and specifications related to flooring projects
- Experience with epoxy floor installation, tile laying, hardwood installation, vinyl flooring, carpet installation, and floor refinishing is highly desirable
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and building installation safety compliance
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving lifting heavy materials or equipment regularly throughout the workday
- Strong carpentry skills including trim carpentry and fixture installation are a plus
- Additional experience in restoration industry work such as water damage restoration or remodeling is advantageous
