Position Overview We are seeking a Floating Production Supervisor to provide leadership and operational support across multiple manufacturing departments. This position serves as a key resource by providing supervisory coverage during vacations, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs.
The ideal candidate is a flexible, hands-on leader who can adapt to changing priorities while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys leading teams across different shifts and departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support production teams across multiple manufacturing departments.
- Ensure daily production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production performance to maximize efficiency.
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees to improve performance and engagement.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and workplace safety standards.
- Identify production challenges and implement effective corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and maintain operational continuity.
- Provide supervisory coverage on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as needed to support business operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Production Supervisor experience or 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience.
- Plastics manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and employee development abilities.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with JD Edwards ERP is a plus.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and results-oriented.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be flexible and willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift, including extended periods on any shift, based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
