About the role
Role: A Flight Nurse provides high-quality critical care during patient transport, assessing, triaging, and treating patients in stressful and confined helicopter environments. Working alongside a Flight Paramedic, they administer medicines and advanced life support, requiring quick decision-making and clinical expertise in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications
- Accredited nursing education with current RN licensure in practice state and compatible with other states.
- Three years of ER or Critical Care experience.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and within six months, ITLS or PHTLS, ATLS or equivalent, and within two years, FP-C or CCP-C.
- Proficiency with cardiac monitors, ventilators, intubation, infusion pumps, and related medical equipment.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s of Nursing, prior flight paramedic experience, CEN, or CCRN certifications.
Key Duties
- Provide advanced pre-hospital critical care in challenging environments.
- Operate and interpret medical devices and monitors.
- Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing.
- Work effectively under environmental and operational stressors.
