About This Role
Fleet Managers oversee the company's fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are available, well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and used efficiently to support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet
- Ensure timely preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs of vehicles
- Monitor fleet utilization, fuel consumption, and operating costs
- Ensure compliance with transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Manage vehicle registration, insurance, licensing, and related documentation
- Supervise and coordinate drivers, including scheduling and performance monitoring
- Investigate accidents and implement corrective and preventive measures
- Coordinate vehicle procurement, replacement, and disposal
- Track fleet performance using GPS and fleet management systems
- Prepare reports on fleet performance, maintenance, and operational costs
- Negotiate with vendors and service providers for maintenance, fuel, and fleet-related services
- Implement initiatives to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3–4 years of experience in fleet, transportation, or logistics management
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet management practices
- Familiarity with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of transportation laws, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and vendor management abilities
- Ability to analyze fleet performance data and manage budgets effectively
- Valid driver's license (preferred or required, depending on the role)
