Fleet Manager

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

• Independently resolve discrepancies in data provided by points of contact within program offices, oversee results, and provide accurate monitoring and accounting of the vehicles into the Automotive Statistical Tool (AST), certifying accuracy to Headquarters.

• Prepare written guidance, maintain transportation account billing reports and track the allocation of funds in order to forecast long-range vehicle operations.

• Acquire and distribute vehicles for specific projects, field and program activities.

• Ensure safety and state compliance of vehicles as well as respond to damages and other incidents.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

Qualifications

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as managing and operating vehicle management systems such as Automotive Statistical Tool (AST), Vehicle Automated Reservation System (VARS) and Managing All Regional Vehicles (MARV); and maintaining a transportation tracking system and records; OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., in any academic discipline.
