About the team:
Systems Operation Section (SOP) is responsible for System Daily Operations for both Head Office systems and local EUC systems. SOP also provides IT support for hardware, software installation and maintenance as well as Field Support services to the business users. In addition, the team is also holding responsibility for the promotion and implementation of IT solution projects.
To enhance IT systems operation and end-user services, SOP is establishing a new team for IT system operations planning and control. The team will plan and manage IT projects and deal with stakeholders in Head Office, external vendors and financial institutions on IT initiatives.
Role requirements:
Project Delivery & Governance
- Lead the full project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, testing, cutover/rollout, hypercare, and closure.
- Build and manage integrated project plans, dependencies, RAID logs, and change control.
- Drive governance, steer decision-making, and escalate risks/issues with clear options and impacts.
- Ensure operational readiness: support model, documentation, monitoring/logging alignment, and transition to BAU.
Essential Functions:
Project Focus Areas
1) Microsoft 365 (Modern Workplace) Implementation
- Deliver implementation and rollout across Outlook/Exchange (as applicable), Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Lead Teams Softphone / Teams Voice enablement using PSTN via Operator Connect (planning, readiness, rollout coordination).
- Support Copilot readiness initiatives (prerequisites, controls alignment, pilot/rollout planning as approved).
2) EOS/EOL Server Migration (Tech Refresh Program)
- Drive migration of EOS/EOL servers and platforms (Windows and Linux), including OS/middleware/database dependency considerations.
- Manage migration waves, cutover plans, rollback approach, and stabilization to reduce technology and operational risk.
3) Office Relocation / Renovation Technology Enablement
- Deliver workplace technology uplift including corporate Wi‑Fi revamp (coverage, capacity, segmentation, security).
- Coordinate workplace/meeting room technology design and rollout, including M365-integrated meeting rooms (e.g., Teams Rooms).
- Manage move readiness, onsite cutover coordination, and post-move stabilization.
Competencies:
Stakeholder, Vendor, Budget & Quality Management
- Manage stakeholders across business users, local/regional IT teams, and multiple vendors/service providers.
- Govern vendor delivery performance, milestones, acceptance criteria, and service transition requirements.
- Manage end-to-end IT investment execution: budget planning, cost tracking, procurement coordination, and budgetary control.
- Maintain delivery quality through test governance, release readiness checks, and post-implementation review.
Regulatory & Independent Assessment Support (HKMA)
- Support initiatives subject to regulatory scrutiny and independent review (e.g., HKMA-related independent assessments) in the context of M365 rollout, EOS/EOL remediation, and office relocation technology changes.
- Coordinate required artefacts and evidence (e.g., governance records, risk assessments, test evidence, cutover/runbooks, security control alignment, remediation plans) with internal stakeholders and external assessors.
- Track and drive closure of assessment findings/actions, ensuring timely reporting and alignment with governance forums.
BAU Risk Mitigation
- Support additional initiatives to mitigate IT risks, such as patch and vulnerability management, data centre consolidation, VM farm expansion, and non‑production migration to Azure Cloud Landing Zone.
Work experience, education and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure/platform operations and delivery, with 5+ years leading complex projects/workstreams.
- Strong, proven delivery experience (including hands on) in:
- Microsoft 365 implementation (Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive/Outlook)
- Teams Softphone / Voice with PSTN (Operator Connect or equivalent)
- EOS/EOL system migration across Windows and Linux
- Corporate Wi‑Fi design/upgrade in enterprise environments
- Data centre consolidation and/or major infrastructure refresh programs
- Strong technical and architectural knowledge across server, platform, and network architecture on both on premise and cloud-based (e.g. Azure) environments
- Comprehensive knowledge of SASE solutions (e.g., Zscaler), endpoint management tool (Intune, Managed Engine and etc.), security management solutions including SIEM, XDR, NDR, SOC, firewall, and PAM.
- People management capability to manage a diverse team including internal members and external parties as required.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills (business users, local/regional IT teams, multiple vendors).
- Strong written and spoken communication in English. Fluent in Cantonese (Mandarin will be an advantage).
- Proven experience working in environments with regulatory engagement and compliance requirements, including supporting HKMA (or equivalent regulator) queries, reviews, audits, or independent assessments for technology initiatives.
- Banking industry domain knowledge is highly preferable
- Solid experience on managing and provisioning large-scale infrastructure, capacity planning, backup & restore and etc.;
- Experience coordinating solutions involving Azure (Landing Zone concepts, hybrid connectivity considerations).
- Proficient in English and Chinese
