Fitness Program Manager

This full-time role involves leading a fitness center operation at a client site, overseeing all aspects of a thriving onsite wellness program, and delivering an exceptional member experience. Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic fitness center operation by overseeing all aspects of a thriving onsite wellness program while delivering an exceptional member experience
• Drive participation and results through innovative onsite and virtual fitness and wellness programs that motivate individuals to achieve their health goals
• Shape the program's success by ensuring contract compliance, managing key performance metrics, and developing outcome-focused reports that demonstrate impact and value
• Coach, mentor, and inspire your team through staff supervision, training, professional development, and ongoing leadership support
• Design and deliver engaging wellness initiatives including fitness programs, challenges, workshops, and special events that encourage participation and healthy lifestyles
• Make a direct impact on members' wellness journeys by providing fitness assessments, exercise prescriptions, facility orientations, and expert fitness guidance
• Lead group fitness experiences and individual training sessions that energize participants and help them reach their personal goals
• Create a welcoming and motivating environment by providing floor supervision, building strong member relationships, and delivering outstanding customer service
• Support strategic growth and operational excellence through business planning, program management, and day-to-day administrative oversight
• Manage all program activities in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety, and service standards
• Develop and implement the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/service offerings and initiatives, targeted outcomes, and marketing strategy to meet client objectives
• Prepare and manage operating budget
• Ensure expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
• Lead regular individual and group staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness, client and program events, initiatives, and status
• Manage client relationship to ensure that high customer satisfaction is maintained and HealthFitness value is reinforced
• Direct the implementation of individual and group fitness programs, health education activities, motivational programs, and special events; coordinate marketing and communications to maximize program engagement, bringing in HealthFitness Corporate support as appropriate
• Track participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes, and results; create outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives
• Manage all record and data management activities at the worksite, ensuring the proper storage, retention, and confidentiality all data collected in accordance with HealthFitness requirements
• Conduct informal safety checks daily and perform routine safety audits on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis in accordance with HealthFitness guidelines
• Perform staff responsibilities as appropriate including floor supervision, fitness testing, exercise prescription, new member facility and equipment orientations, personal training, and group exercise class instruction
• Verify equipment is well maintained and operating properly; ensure locker rooms are clean and stocked, and coordinate prompt resolution to facility related issues
• Introduce new HealthFitness programs, products, and services to the client in conjunction with the Director Program Management & Engagement
• Perform other duties as needed/assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, current certifications, and experience
• 2+ years’ related industry experience
• Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA (if not current must obtain within 60 days of hire)
• NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency (if not current must obtain within 90 days of hire)
• Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Institute, or American Safety & Health Institute required by start date (certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant)
• Ability to lead, manage and operate a fitness center
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test
