Fitness Coach

About This Role

This part-time role involves guiding members through safe and effective exercise routines, maintaining the fitness areas, and fostering a positive environment. It suits a friendly and reliable individual with a passion for fitness and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members on how to safely and properly exercise, with or without equipment
• Detect and correct unsafe exercises by offering appropriate modifications to meet members' goals
• Supervise, monitor, and ensure the clean appearance of the fitness areas
• Place malfunctioning equipment out of order and report, according to protocol
• Promote YMCA membership retention by being a "people person" and demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess, maintain, and renew CPR for the Professional Rescuer, EPI, Asthma, and First Aid certifications
• Possess a general knowledge of fitness
• Strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable communicating with members
