Firmware Engineer

About This Role

Developing embedded C firmware for controlling DSP hardware and creating C and Python test code for utilities and GUIs are the core tasks for this role. This position involves taking ideas from concept to release, working on mission-critical features for top-tier cloud customers, and debugging difficult issues with hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded C firmware for controlling DSP HW
• Develop C & Python test code for utilities, GUIs, regression, and simulation infrastructure
• Take an idea from concept through design, review, implementation, testing, and release to customers
• Work on mission-critical features for top-tier cloud customers
• Debug difficult issues, drive to root causes with HW/SW teams, and follow up with Jira tickets to get bugs resolved

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software, Telecommunication or Electronics Engineering, and related fields
• 1 to 3 years relevant experience
• Understanding of fundamental Networking from the OSI model, emphasizing the PHY up to the data link level
• Experience with the software development flow, from issue tracking (Jira), SCM (gitlab), design & code reviews (also gitlab), continuous integration (Jenkins), and regression testing

Nice to have:

• Experience in C and Python, with knowledge of git, Linux, makefiles, gdb, IDEs, and bash
• Software development experience in Embedded Firmware environments
• Understanding DSP concepts (equalizers, filters, ADC, DAC, FFE, DFE) and PAM modulation
