Firmware Engineer

About This Role

This role involves designing, creating, and debugging embedded systems code throughout the entire firmware development lifecycle. The successful candidate will participate in code design and development based on product specifications, actively engage in code reviews, and conduct unit and integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Build domain expertise in your area of responsibility, including creating prototypes, problem-solving, and delivering shippable features
• Collaborate with stakeholders to solidify requirements and work with various teams to accomplish tasks
• Ask relevant questions and participate in brainstorming and code reviews
• Sift through data and information quickly to identify what is essential
• Track and adhere to delivery schedules

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in C/C++ programming
• Experience investigating and fixing bugs
• Background in firmware/software development phases, from product definition through code maintenance
• Adaptive to change and/or familiar with the AGILE/SCRUM process
• Ambassador of best programming practices (code reviews, unit testing, automation)
• Strong brainstorming and teamwork skills
• Self-initiated and proactive
• Able to think of the bigger picture (e.g., beyond a 1-line code change)
• Willingness to learn

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of embedded firmware & Unix/Linux/Embedded environment
