As a Fire Appartus Engineer-Paramedic with CAL FIRE, you'll respond to a wide range of emergencies, including wildland fires, structure fires, vehicle accidents, rescues, and medical emergencies while providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) care to those who need it most. Working as part of a highly trained crew, you'll combine firefighting, emergency medicine, teamwork, and public service to help protect California's communities, natural resources, and visitors every day.
This is far more than a firefighting position. Fire Fighter II-Paramedics are dual-role emergency responders who combine advanced emergency medical care with firefighting expertise to respond to California's diverse all-hazard emergencies. Whether treating critically ill patients, fighting fast-moving wildfires, rescuing victims from vehicle accidents, or supporting disaster response efforts, you'll gain experience across a broad range of emergency situations while building a rewarding career with one of the nation's premier fire departments.
