Duties
This role provides business advisor services including obligation planning and funds usage assessments.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Ensuring that operating program objectives are met by monitoring budget allocations and execution.

Leading projects and analyzing the potential effects of budgetary and financial execution actions on program viability and attainment of program objectives for both funds and personnel.

Providing expert technical guidance for a wide variety of agency financial review programs in which novel, complex, and controversial conditions exist pertaining to acquisition, construction and improvement (AC&I) funding issues and concerns for major acquisition projects.

Serving as a project expert on financial analyses, economic analyses, budget case analyses, comparative rates of return on investment, and analysis of alternatives for management.
Qualifications
To be considered at the GS-13 level: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. For this position, specialized experience includes the following: contributing to the overall design and management of financial management systems; monitoring budget allocations and execution; providing technical guidance related to accounting, acquisition and auditing regulations; and analyzing financial contributions to acquisition projects.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
