Financial Analyst, Financial Restructuring

About This Role

This Financial Analyst role is within the Financial Restructuring Group in Shanghai, focusing on a variety of complex and high-impact transactions across Greater China. The position involves working on debtor- and creditor-side restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, liability management, capital solutions, and private financings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial information
• Create financial models
• Coordinate and perform business and financial due diligence
• Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, pitch materials, and other client deliverables
• Prepare valuation analyses and support negotiations with creditors, shareholders, management, and other stakeholders
• Support the team on live transaction processes
• Assist in business development, origination, and the marketing of new engagements

Requirements

• Prior working experience of at least 1 to 3 years, preferably in investment banking, restructuring, leveraged finance, special situations, or a related capital markets or advisory role
• Strong academic track record from a reputable university
• Demonstrated interest in financial restructuring, capital solutions, and complex transactions
• Strong understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
• Excellent quantitative, financial, and analytical skills
• Strong LBO and DCF modeling capabilities
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
• Motivated and able to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment
