Financial Analyst

About This Role

This financial analyst role supports the AIR 6500 program as a key member of the RMS Finance Team. The position involves executing a range of financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and reporting, to consolidate financial results and deliver contractual cost and schedule reports. The role suits a finance analyst or project accountant with a strong analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail, who can translate financial data into actionable insights for a regulated, defence contracting environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate month-to-month and period-end reports that capture all key financial metrics (Orders, Sales, EBIT, Cash, OSEC, ROS%, and overhead costs), ensuring cost allocation accuracy and alignment with forecasted figures
• Review and reconcile program cost allocation actuals against established procedures, providing clear explanations and variance analyses to senior stakeholders
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts by gathering assumptions, connecting with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the consolidation of forecast data
• Administer customer invoicing, debtor management, and cash flow monitoring to maintain healthy liquidity
• Support contract audits, sample-based true-up processes, and ad-hoc financial reviews (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Track program profitability (ROS%) and develop insights that inform profitability and risk mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with finance and program stakeholders to diagnose moderately complex finance issues and co-design effective solutions

Requirements

• Proven expertise in accounting and finance, with a strong handle on accounting principles, concepts, and standards
• A track record of delivering accurate financial analysis and insightful advice
• Experience liaising directly with customers or external stakeholders, translating technical financial information into clear, actionable communication
• Demonstrated ability to produce timely, concise written reports and presentations for internal and external audiences
• Advanced computer proficiency
• Competent in data analysis and report generation using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related financial tools
• Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems
• CA or CPA qualified (or undertaking studies)
