Financial Analyst

About This Role

The Financial Analyst collects, analyzes, and interprets financial data to support the Global Critical Power Division. Working as part of a team, this role updates forecasting models, identifies trends and problems, and communicates insights to drive financial performance and optimize business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support the analysis of business performance versus plan and propose improvement actions
• Perform benchmarking of key performance indicators with industry competitors and similar businesses within ABB
• Work with the management team to understand and analyze drivers of financial performance and identify market trends
• Prepare financial modeling for various hypotheses and analyze impact to the organization
• Validate the accuracy of financial data and business information and reporting through reconciliation and review of exceptions
• Provide financial support for the Critical Power service operations and strategic initiatives
• Maintain accurate financial records, audit trails, and documentation for tax, internal, and external audit reviews

Requirements

• Highly skilled in financial analysis tools and methodologies such as Excel, financial modeling platforms, and business intelligence software
• Strong knowledge of the industrial and power protection markets
• Established skills and experience in financial analysis, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting within a manufacturing or industrial business environment
• Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and data management platforms
• Passionate about delivering accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in financial analysis or business planning
• At ease communicating in English
• Right to work in New Zealand
