Finance Manager, Security Finance

About This Role

Managing the finances for Amazon's security functions is the core of this role, which involves partnering with senior security leaders to build a robust security culture. You will uncover critical trends, refine forecasting accuracy, and generate actionable insights to empower strategic decision-making, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) team on business strategy, fostering growth and development
• Lead planning processes, providing financial expertise and driving impactful decisions
• Own third-party (3P) software spending reporting across Amazon Security
• Deliver regular weekly and monthly reporting that influences security investments and strategic direction
• Develop and maintain scalable financial models that empower informed planning, accurate controllership, and clear visibility into key business drivers
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support leaders in tackling business challenges and understanding the financial ramifications of decisions
• Demonstrate the agility and resilience to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, consistently delivering impactful results

Requirements

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Nice to have:

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• MBA, or CPA
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
