Finance Manager - Ethiopia

Role Purpose

Support the value creation of Bayer Ethiopia business, ensuring reliability and predictability of key financials. Responsible for all finance and risk management topics within the country and provides to Bayer East Africa management insights and relevant analysis, evaluations and recommendations to steer the business

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Accounting Operations and Reporting

• Manage daily accounting operations, including fixed asset activity.
• Support revenue recognition and expenditure variance analysis.
• Follow up on special items with the Finance lead East Africa.
• Maintain data integrity and correct accounting errors for accurate reporting.

Compliance, Tax, and Audit

• Ensure timely tax submissions and compliance with local tax laws.
• Coordinate local external audits.
• Ensure complete and timely external reporting to authorities.
• Review internal controls and drive a compliance culture across the entity.

Systems and Data Delivery

• Ensure compliant, timely reporting to global systems (data.one, SAP, CoFiPot) with the Finance Lead and LEFiM East Africa.

Planning, Forecasting, and Treasury Analysis

• Perform short-term planning, forecasting, and documentation of legal entity financials.
• Plan income statements for tax forecasting and transfer pricing.
• Prepare cash flow statements for liquidity exposure planning and impairment testing.
• Reduce forecasting complexity
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable.

Business Partnering

• Provide analytics, standard reporting, and presentations for CFO functions.
• Deliver reliable financial and economic data to steer business decisions.

Leadership and Administration

• Provide leadership as part of the country leadership team.
• Oversee site administration with the General services manager EA.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management
• CPA/ ACCA qualifications
• Over 8 years’ experience in a busy accounting environment.
• Tax and Treasury knowledge (Local and Global view)
• Experience in shared service organization interactions
