About the role
Purpose/Objective
To lead and manage the financial and operational aspects of the IFF business within the logistics domain, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
The role aims to drive operational excellence, enhance profitability, and mitigate risks through strategic market intelligence, vendor/customer due diligence, and cross-functional collaboration.
The candidate will play a key role in aligning finance strategies with business goals across ecommerce, retail, and manufacturing sectors, while maintaining strong relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transporters.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Governance, Compliance & Financial Controls - Ensure endtoend compliance with approved Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all transactions and deals.
- Monitor and validate that the business operates strictly within approved financial and operational frameworks.
- Ensure all deals and transactions adhere to leaddown SOPs and internal control policies.
- Drive realtime deallevel profitability tracking and reporting.
- Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Publish monthly profitability reports with detailed variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Ensure adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and compliance requirements on a realtime basis.
Operational Finance & Process Excellence - Support daily operational finance activities, including PR/PO management, invoicing, and payment cycles.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial inputs are provided to the customer invoicing team.
- Validate commercial terms such as pricing, payment terms, contract validity, and agreement compliance.
- Conduct comprehensive financial due diligence during onboarding of new customers and vendors.
- Actively participate in bidding processes, commercial evaluations, and contract finalization.
- Monitor and analyze key KPIs including cost optimization, service reliability, and vendor/customer performance.
Market Intelligence & Risk Management - Stay proactively informed on market trends, freight rate movements, and regulatory changes impacting international freight forwarding.
- Assess financial risks related to capacity constraints, rate volatility, and supply chain disruptions.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency strategies to protect margins and business continuity.
CrossFunctional Collaboration - Partner closely with logistics operations, supply chain management, legal, and compliance teams.
- Align finance strategies with business objectives across ecommerce, retail, and manufacturing verticals.
- Serve as a trusted finance advisor to the business, supporting datadriven decisionmaking.
Technical Competencies

Qualifications and Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) .
- 12–18 years of progressive experience in logistics or international freight forwarding finance, with strong exposure to shipping and forwarding contracts.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship building.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP and other business ERP/financial platforms.
