Finance Controller

About This Role

This role is for a Regulatory Reporting Controller in the Accounting and Regulatory Reporting team within the Central Finance department. The person will support monthly and year-end closings, conduct analyses and reconciliations, and prepare regulatory reports for statutory and consolidation purposes, as well as IFRS. The role also involves compiling management financial statements and preparing tax declarations.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting, legal, and tax regulations
• Perform detailed analyses of profit and loss and balance sheet movements on both a monthly and ad hoc basis
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and reconcile data across different accounting ledgers
• Collaborate closely with accountants, central finance controllers, and controllers from various business units to obtain accurate and timely information for analysis
• Review and propose accounting treatments for new transactions within the firm
• Assist in the preparation of tax declarations
• Document and optimise internal controls across various business cycles
• Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for internal and external audit processes

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Economics
• BE GAAP knowledge
• Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
• Very strong analytical, mathematical, and reconciliation skills, coupled with a critical mindset
• Solid understanding of consolidation processes
• Ability to work independently in an organised and structured manner, prioritising effectively
• Capable of explaining and documenting processes clearly and systematically
• Proactive in suggesting improvements and optimising ways of working
• Proficient in Dutch and English
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and a committed team player
• Clear communicator with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Resilient under pressure

• Work format: hybrid workplace (combination of home office and on-site at one of 10+ offices in Belgium or client's premises)
• Employment type: full-time or part-time (90% or 80% regime)
