About This Role
The Finance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the full set of accounts for several entities within a construction industry company listed on the SGX mainboard. This role involves working with auditors and tax agents, managing cash flow, and preparing various financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for keeping full set of accounts (AP, AR, and GL) of several entities
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Work with tax agent on income tax submission
- Manage cash flow
- Do quarterly GST reporting
- Work with Finance colleagues outside HQ
- Responsible for month-end and year-end closing, including ensuring all necessary revenue and cost accruals and provisions are entered in the books
- Prepare monthly Management Accounts and reports for various companies
- Prepare reports for monthly Management Meetings
- Prepare year-end Financial Statements with Notes to Accounts
- Assist in Group accounts and SGX-related work where necessary
- Responsible for proper accounting of fixed assets
- Review monthly bank reconciliations
- Liaise with tax agent on income tax matters and income tax computations
- Liaise with external auditors for interim and year-end audit
- Prepare monthly AR invoices and send out timely
- Follow up closely on AR collections and resolve timely
- Manage payments to suppliers, related companies, banks, IRAS, and other regulatory bodies
- Perform monthly cash flow forecasts for several companies
- Monitor bank balances of various companies and ensure adequate funding
- Prepare quarterly GST submissions timely
- Perform monthly reconciliations for inter-company balances
- Perform any other assigned duties
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting from a generally recognized education body
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Keen to learn full set of accounts and group accounts
- Good team player, working well with internal and external parties
- Effective time management skills, and adhere to deadlines
- Good initiative, possess a positive mindset, and have a sense of urgency
- Strong commitment to work
