About the role
This is a key position within our Financial Accounting & Reporting function, where you will play an integral role in supporting our financial operations and delivering accurate, timely financial information to stakeholders. You will work collaboratively with our finance team to ensure the highest standards of financial reporting and analysis, contributing directly to the strategic decision-making processes of the organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Conducting financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis activities
- Reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Analysing financial trends and performance metrics to provide meaningful insights to management
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting queries
- Supporting internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to enquiries
- Maintaining detailed records and documentation to support all financial transactions and reporting activities
What we're looking for
- A relevant degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Proven experience in financial accounting, reporting or a similar role within the accounting field
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel
- A thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies accurately
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to work with complex financial data
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to diverse stakeholders
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with ERP systems or financial management software would be advantageous
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with accounting practices
