Field Service Technician

Indianapolis-area field assignment

Up to $25-30/hour on W-2 (Eligible for a completion bonus)

3 months contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Field Service Technician to support the installation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technology hardware at hospital and healthcare facilities throughout the Indianapolis area.

This is a field-based opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and being hands-on. The technician will travel to assigned healthcare locations, install and connect equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all hardware is fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

Travel to hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the Indianapolis area.

Install, connect, configure, and test technology hardware and related equipment.

Set up computers, cameras, sensors, networking equipment, peripherals, and other connected devices.

Run and organize cables and ensure equipment is installed safely and properly.

Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, connectivity, and equipment issues.

Test systems and equipment to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Work professionally with hospital IT teams, clinical staff, and other onsite personnel.

Follow installation instructions, technical documentation, and safety procedures.

Document completed work, equipment installations, and any issues encountered.

Escalate complex technical issues when necessary.

Maintain tools, equipment, and installation materials.

Complete assigned projects and installations within established timelines.

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in field service, IT support, technical installation, telecommunications, low-voltage installation, audiovisual installation, or a related hands-on technical role.

Comfortable working with computers, hardware, cables, electronic devices, and basic networking equipment.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read and follow technical instructions and installation diagrams.

Comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail.

Ability to lift, carry, and install equipment as required.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability to travel locally throughout the Indianapolis area.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience working in hospitals or healthcare facilities.

Experience installing cameras, sensors, computers, displays, or connected technology.

Familiarity with Ethernet cabling and basic networking concepts.

Experience with low-voltage or structured cabling.

Previous field service or onsite technical support experience.
