Field Service Technician I

About This Role

This Field Service Technician I role involves a variety of customer service-related tasks focused on mechanical, piping, controls, and HVAC Chilled Water and Hydronic Heating Systems. The work includes installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of customer equipment on Delhi's District Steam System.

Responsibilities

• Perform all activities covered under Mechanic I
• Perform soldering, burning, and conduct service and repairs such as valve rebuilding, repacking, and replacement
• Read and interpret mechanical prints
• Understand principles and components of steam, hot water, chilled water, and HVAC distribution and basic controls
• Test, repair, replace, and service major steam, condensate, hot water, and chilled water components such as pumps, PRVs, steam traps, heat exchangers, and hot water systems
• Proficiently understand and use all conventional tools and meters to maintain, repair, calibrate, and test components found in the systems described above
• Prepare technical reports to accurately describe conditions and work performed
• Prepare appropriate service documentation for billing and completion of service orders
• Prepare work scope and price estimates for project work
• Maintain and develop good customer relations while promoting the image of the company

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 5+ years of experience working in the trades in a field service role
• Trained or already trained as an Associated Asbestos Worker
• Adhere to customer and facility rules and regulations
• Journeyman Pipefitter license
• Refrigeration Technician (HVAC) license
• Electrician or Plumber license
• LA driver's license, minimum Class 3, and safe driving record

Important Details

• Work Environment: Required to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs; required to work in all weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors
