About the role

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives within the Transmission and Driveline systems domain. This role will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional projects, leading warranty issue resolution, managing field quality investigations, and driving corrective actions across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent project coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional project meetings, including agendas, action items, meeting minutes, and stakeholder communications.
  • Compile project status reports and maintain project schedules and timelines.
  • Analyze system requirements and help define project scope, deliverables, and objectives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead resolution of warranty-related issues, including root cause analysis, corrective action development, validation, and progress reporting.
  • Manage warranty claim triage activities, including claim reviews, failure categorization, and field investigations.
  • Collaborate with dealer networks, suppliers, engineering teams, and manufacturing facilities to support issue identification and resolution.
  • Validate containment actions and permanent corrective measures through product and process reviews.
  • Review process changes, control plans, and quality metrics to ensure effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within quality and product development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering within the automotive industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in testing, validation, or test method development, including:
  • Fixture design
  • Instrumentation
  • Data acquisition systems
  • Test development and execution
  • Strong knowledge of Transmission and Driveline systems and components.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with quality performance metrics and reporting.
  • Shainin Red X Black Belt certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of Kepner-Tregoe problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
  • Project management experience in automotive product development environments.
