About the Role
As a Field Automation Systems Engineer, you will lead the deployment and optimization of complex robotic and PLC-controlled environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring that high-density automation systems meet performance benchmarks and integrate seamlessly with warehouse management software.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the startup and commissioning of automated hardware, ensuring full compliance with project specifications.
- Configure and validate PLC and HMI systems to guarantee robust communication and operational reliability.
- Execute comprehensive end-to-end testing to verify that robotic cells and safety systems function as intended.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure successful system go-live.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot software or hardware anomalies.
- Validate integration between onsite automation equipment and client Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Maintain detailed documentation of system performance and configuration to support long-term operational success.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with PLC platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley, or Siemens.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and interpreting technical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for industrial networks and motion control hardware.
- Ability to travel frequently to customer sites for extended installation and testing phases.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with industrial robotics (e.g., ABB, Fanuc) and HMI interfaces like PanelView.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Linux, and Windows server environments.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP or ProfiNet.
- Ability to provide remote technical support using SSH and web-based diagnostic tools.
