This role is for a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Optic Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks. The position requires technical expertise in telecommunication systems, network infrastructure, and low voltage wiring, with a focus on safety and quality standards. Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables and related infrastructure in various environments
• Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, forklifts, and bucket operation tools safely to access installation sites
• Perform electrical work related to fiber optic systems, including low voltage wiring and connections
• Conduct inspections of network infrastructure to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades
• Use welding techniques when required for secure cable mounting or enclosure modifications
• Manage telecommunication equipment including telephony systems and WAN connections
• Follow safety protocols during all phases of installation and maintenance work to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Document work performed accurately and report progress or issues to supervisors promptly

Requirements

• Proven experience with telecommunication systems, fiber optic installation, and network infrastructure
• Familiarity with telephony systems, WAN configurations, and low voltage electrical work
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as bucket trucks and forklifts safely and efficiently
• Strong understanding of telecommunication standards, wiring practices, and safety procedures
• Ability to work at heights using bucket trucks or ladders while maintaining safety protocols
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in technical tasks

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of welding techniques relevant to cable mounting or enclosure modifications is a plus
• Electrical experience is desirable for troubleshooting power supplies and related components
