About This Role
This role involves constructing, connecting, and maintaining fiber optic networks to ensure fast and reliable internet connections for both private and business customers. The position suits a motivated fiber optic technician who is technically skilled and enjoys working independently.
Responsibilities
- Splice and connect fiber optic cables
- Mount and connect fiber optic components
- Perform various installation and assembly tasks
- Detect and repair faults and cable breaks on active and passive fiber optic networks
- Perform and analyze OTDR measurements
- Check the quality of completed connections
Requirements
- Not colorblind
- Technical insight and preferably a basic knowledge of electricity and electrical diagrams
- Valid driving license B
- Work accurately, independently, and solution-oriented
- Motivated to learn new techniques and tasks
- Able to express yourself well in Dutch and English
- Flexible and comfortable working at various construction sites
Nice to have:
- Experience with fiber optic work or fiber splicing
- Experience working on a ladder or aerial work platform
