About This Role
Field Technicians install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic telecommunications systems. This role suits motivated individuals who are looking to build a career in the rapidly growing telecommunications industry.
Responsibilities
- Install, splice, test, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic systems
- Read and interpret maps, prints, diagrams, and project documentation
- Assist with construction, installation, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure
- Operate safely in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Respond to service outages and emergency repair needs as part of an on-call rotation
- Complete required documentation and communicate project updates effectively
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards
Requirements
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including day, night, and mid shifts
- Ability to distinguish colors and read fine print
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
