About the role

The position holder is responsible for supporting various aspects of the operations. This position requires a blend of administrative, operational, and customer service skills to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage diet control administration and patient meal-related matters
  • Handle telephone calls, enquiries and feedback. Record and convey messages, follow up and respond as appropriate with relevant departments.
  • Collate and update relevant meal data required by the kitchen for production summaries
  • Generate daily meal summaries via the electronic meal ordering system and distribute to respective kitchen sections for preparation, cooking, dishing, and tray assembly
  • Generate patients' meal chits from the electronic meal ordering system and hand over to the kitchen for meal assembly
  • Assist the kitchen team during meal assembly and plating, ensuring all meals are loaded accurately
  • Requisition, control, and maintain efficient utilisation of office supplies within the department
  • Receive, issue, and perform stock takes of assigned items. Ensure all stock is stored correctly and in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required
  • Conduct and collate patient meal satisfaction surveys to gather actionable feedback, supporting continuous improvement in food quality and service delivery.

About you

  • A minimum NITEC or Diploma in Food Science, Food Nutrition, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Candidates with relevant working experience in a similar field will also be considered
  • Possess a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certificate, demonstrating foundational knowledge in food hygiene and safety standards
  • Possess good communication, interpersonal and phone etiquette skills
  • Demonstrate strong IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, adapting effectively to a dynamic work environment
  • Able to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying of heavy items as required
