About This Role
Creating original and innovative fashion and textile designs that align with the company's brand identity is the core of this role, which also involves researching current trends and collaborating with production teams. This position suits a creative fashion designer with a strong portfolio and a deep understanding of batik and textile techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop original, innovative fashion and textile design concepts in line with the company's brand identity
- Create accurate detailed sketches and technical drawings for fashion production and batik collections
- Conduct research on current fashion trends, analyze the market, and study consumer preferences to inform designs
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure designs can be efficiently produced and meet quality standards
- Select appropriate materials, colors, patterns, and textures for design concepts and production needs
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and priorities
- Attend fitting sessions and revise designs based on feedback from teams and stakeholders
- Document all design processes and maintain a portfolio of developed collections
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Fashion Designer with a strong and measurable portfolio
- In-depth knowledge of batik, textile techniques, and fashion material characteristics
- Strong visual communication skills with expertise in drawing and hand sketching
- Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD, or other fashion design software
- Understanding of fashion production processes, cutting, and quality control
- High creativity with the ability to generate fresh and marketable design ideas
- Good problem-solving skills and responsiveness to feedback
- Expertise in color theory, pattern making, and draping
