Family Counselor IAG

About This Role

Supporting families to create a safe, manageable, and livable home environment is the core of this role within the TOM team at 's Heeren Loo. This position as a Family Counselor IAG focuses on intensive outpatient work, aiming to prevent out-of-home placements or facilitate sustainable returns home for children and young people. You will provide structure, safety, and practical tools to families on the verge of losing control, helping them break patterns and build a stable future.

Responsibilities

• Support families in creating a safe, manageable, and livable home environment
• Work with families on stability, perspective, and recovery to prevent out-of-home placement or enable sustainable return home
• Observe, analyze, and break patterns in family dynamics
• Guide families towards a more stable future
• Provide intensive support for parenting, behavioral problems, and self-reliance
• Intervene directly in crisis situations

Requirements

• HBO diploma in care or welfare, supplemented with a post-HBO IAG qualification and preferably SKJ registration
• Knowledge of (family) guidance, diagnostics, and social services map
• Strong analytical and communication skills to understand family dynamics
• Persuasiveness and perseverance to bring about change in complex situations
• Driving license and access to a car, as work is carried out throughout the polder
