Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Repair & Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of company facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained work environment while leading maintenance operations, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvements in facility performance.
The successful candidate will oversee maintenance teams, coordinate repair and renovation projects, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and optimize facility operations through effective planning and resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure.
- Schedule and manage repairs, renovations, equipment upgrades, safety inspections, and facility improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Supervise maintenance operations involving electrical systems, mechanical equipment, hydraulics, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Manage waste reduction and sustainability initiatives to improve operational efficiency and environmental performance.
- Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for maintenance services, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
- Monitor maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and recommend cost-effective solutions while maintaining high service standards.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to facility issues and operational emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, asset documentation, and regulatory compliance records.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, operational efficiency, and overall facility performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance team members, ensuring high levels of performance, safety, and customer service.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of facility maintenance, building systems, and repair operations across multiple trades, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry.
- Experience managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs within commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and maintenance best practices.
- Proven experience supervising maintenance personnel and coordinating the work of contractors and service providers.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and drive continuous operational improvements with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, resource allocation, and operational performance metrics is preferred.
