Job Summary

The Facilities Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and professional environment across company facilities. This position performs general custodial duties, light maintenance, restocking of supplies, and facility support to ensure employees and customers experience a clean and well-maintained workplace. The Facilities Porter works both independently and with other team members to support daily operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 car rental environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of offices, customer areas, break rooms, restrooms, shop areas, and other company facilities.

· Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, and high-touch surfaces.

· Clean and stock restrooms with paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, and other necessary supplies.

· Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility and transport waste to designated disposal areas.

· Monitor facility cleanliness throughout the day and respond promptly to cleaning needs.

· Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when inventory levels require replenishment.

· Perform basic facility maintenance such as replacing light bulbs, changing air filters (where applicable), assembling furniture, tightening fixtures, and completing other minor repairs within skill level.

· Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, company events, and training spaces.

· Maintain exterior areas by removing litter, sweeping sidewalks, and keeping entrances clean and presentable.

· Operate cleaning equipment safely, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other custodial equipment.

· Report facility maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or needed repairs to management promptly.

· Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with safety guidelines.

· Support emergency clean-up efforts related to spills, weather events, or facility incidents.

· Assist with moving supplies, furniture, equipment, and materials as needed.

· Promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and immediately reporting unsafe conditions.

· Maintain professional interactions with customers, vendors, and employees while representing the company positively.

Other Duties:

• Maintain adherence to company service protocols, confidentiality guidelines, and quality expectations.
• Participate in ongoing training, performance reviews, and team meetings.
• Maintains compliance with company policies and procedures, local regulations, and recommended best practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· At least 1 year or more of custodial, janitorial, facilities, or general maintenance experience preferred.

· Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

· Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe chemical handling.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English with minimal supervision.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

· Dependable attendance and punctuality.

· Must have reliable transportation to work.

· Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

· Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record if operating company vehicles is required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience performing basic building maintenance or handyman duties.

· Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and proper chemical handling procedures.

· Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

· Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment.

Physical Requirements

· Frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

· Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, climb ladders, and perform repetitive movements.

· Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently; occasionally move heavier items with assistance or equipment.

· Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and hand tools.

· Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat common in Southern Nevada.

· Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, vehicle exhaust, and other typical maintenance and automotive work environments while using appropriate personal protective equipment.

· Must possess sufficient visual acuity, hearing, manual dexterity, and mobility to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Schedule

Full-time, up to 35 hours per week, during the day shift on-site at our work location near the Airport Car Rental Center in Las Vegas, NV.

Compensation

$14 - $16 per hour depending on experience
