Facilities Mechanic III

About This Role

This facilities mechanic role focuses on maintaining the infrastructure and services supporting BAE Systems' South Nashua Facility. The successful candidate will be part of a Facility Operations team that maintains and operates building infrastructure across various industrial spaces, including office areas, closed DoD space, clean rooms, and specialty labs.

Responsibilities

• Support space planning; moves, adds & changes
• Coordinate and execute personnel moves as needed
• Operate forklift or hand trucks as required to move supplies
• Install, move and remove a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging
• Erect and secure staging, hoists and rigging in compliance with codes and safety practices
• Install, maintain and dismantle a wide variety of facility equipment
• Work from blueprints, equipment drawings, schematics and manufacturers specifications and literature
• Work independently with limited instruction to complete assignments, renovations, fit-ups or repairs
• Perform periodic maintenance inspection on all types of facilities infrastructure and equipment
• Demonstrate a great customer service demeanor and be capable of working with outside contractors and vendors
• Interface with local project management, plant engineering, and contractor to obtain, furnish, and/or exchange information as necessary for efficient and effective completion of required project tasks
• Participate on special teams including but not limited to: snow removal and emergency response
• Be responsive to off-hour emergencies and participate in an on-call rotational roster to support off-hour emergencies

Requirements

• High School diploma, or GED
• At least four (2) years of general maintenance/construction experience
• Ability to walk, bend, stoop, balance and reach for extended periods of time
• Comfortable with and capable of occasionally working at heights
• Ability to work indoors as well as outdoors in varying temperatures and weather
• May be required to lift at least 50 pounds

Nice to have:

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance level
• Carpentry including installation and repairs of sheetrock, framing, floor tile and carpet, painting, acoustic ceilings, and masonry
• Installation/repairs of doors, hardware and locks
• Support Sustainability and energy management initiatives
• Ability to operate within a computerized maintenance work order system
• Qualified candidate must be able to log work performed, provide a brief explanation of the problem and summarize what was replaced and or repaired
