About This Role
This role supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment within Tesla's Gigafactory Texas facility. The Facilities HVAC Technician uses technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, working as part of a team within the Facilities Operations and Maintenance departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on various types of industrial equipment, typically mechanical equipment
- Utilize equipment drawings and manuals to maintain and troubleshoot equipment
- Identify parts required for maintenance jobs and coordinate requesting various parts for jobs
- Communicate equipment issues with leadership and drive solutions
- Display positive attitudes and practice good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience as an HVAC Technician (non-construction)
- Universal EPA license holder
- Proficient in using vacuum pumps and gauges to pull refrigerant
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals, drawings, and parts lists
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
- High degree of initiative, with the ability to work independently and effectively with other people and teams
- Written and verbal command of the English language
